Many Bedford patients choose to commission their general dental care with us. They value our warm welcome, clear communication, and steady standards. We aim to build long-term confidence through regular check-ups, thoughtful hygiene care, and well-planned treatment when needed. You will always know what to expect and why we recommend it.
You’ll see familiar faces who know your history and preferences. We keep careful records, including photos and scans when useful, so we can track your progress over time. This continuity helps us plan care that fits around work, family, and life.
Your first or routine appointment is designed to feel straightforward and personal.
● Warm welcome and check-in with our front-of-house team
● Comprehensive dental assessment of teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues
● Discussion of your dental history, goals, and any symptoms
● Clear explanation of findings, with a bespoke plan if treatment or further checks are advised
● If everything is healthy, practical tips to keep your mouth fresh and strong
We allow time for questions, so you feel informed and at ease.
If digital images are helpful, we will explain why and show you what we see. Many patients find this reassuring, as it turns technical details into simple visuals. Together we agree next steps and timings that feel manageable.
Good daily habits help protect your results.
● Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
● Clean between teeth with floss or interdental brushes
● Keep sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes
● Attend routine examinations and hygiene appointments as advised
● Ask us for tailored tips that fit your lifestyle
We will personalise advice to your needs and goals.
Small changes make a big difference. Spit after brushing and avoid rinsing, so the fluoride keeps working. Try to finish meals with water, and leave a gap after acidic drinks before brushing.
Most adults and children are suitable for routine check-ups and hygiene care. If you have active decay, gum concerns, dental pain, heavy grinding, or a complex bite, we will prioritise these first.
This protects long-term results and keeps your smile comfortable. After a careful assessment, your clinician will recommend clear, practical next steps.
If you have not seen a dentist for a while, don’t worry. We start with a full assessment and a friendly conversation about your goals. From there, we plan care in sensible stages that respect your budget and time.
General dentistry aims to maintain health and function. Individual treatments are durable, though not permanent.
● Longevity depends on your bite, oral hygiene, diet, and habits
● Composite fillings and sealants may need an occasional polish, repair, or refresh
● Habits like nail biting, opening packets with teeth, or chewing hard objects can shorten lifespan
● If you grind, a protective night guard may be recommended
We will always discuss how to look after any new work.
We’ll discuss realistic lifespans before treatment. Frequent snacks or fizzy drinks can wear surfaces. Regular reviews help us spot early wear.
General dentistry protects health and supports subtle, conservative improvements. Results depend on enamel quality, gum health, your bite, and a full assessment. Composite materials can stain or chip over time and may need maintenance. Planning images and digital previews help us explore options together; they guide discussion rather than promise a final result. Your clinician will guide what is achievable for you.
We take time to match shades with your teeth. As teeth change, occasional refinement may help.
