General dentistry is the foundation of lifelong oral health. It includes routine check-ups, hygiene visits, prevention, and the diagnosis and management of common concerns affecting teeth, gums, and your mouth. With consistent care, you can smile confidently, enjoy everyday meals, and feel in control of your wellbeing.,At Silver Oaks Dental, your care is personal. We listen, examine carefully, and agree practical next steps that suit your goals, schedule, and budget. Most people benefit from regular check-ups and hygiene visits at intervals we recommend for you. This rhythm keeps your mouth healthy and any treatment timely and conservative.
Our CBCT Scanner produces detailed 3D views of teeth, bone, and nearby structures. This supports accurate diagnosis and careful planning, for example when assessing complex roots, bone levels, or impacted teeth. The clearer view builds confidence and reduces uncertainty before treatment begins.
Our digital scanner captures a precise 3D impression in minutes, with no putty trays. You can see your teeth on screen in real time, which makes choices easier to understand. The accuracy supports a better fit for crowns, aligners, and night guards, and often saves time.

Regular reviews help us spot early changes, from tooth wear and decay to shifts in your gums or soft tissues. We also check your jaw joints and bite to see how your teeth meet, which can affect comfort and longevity.
Where helpful, we take small X-rays to view areas not visible to the eye, giving a clearer picture before we act. Early, sensible care often keeps treatment simpler and supports long-term oral health. We look closely at your cheeks, tongue, and palate for any changes, so nothing important is missed.
Professional cleaning removes the plaque and tartar that everyday brushing can miss. This supports gum health, keeps breath fresh, and helps prevent more complex treatment later.
Your hygienist will show you easy techniques for brushing and cleaning between teeth, tailored to your mouth. We also talk about diet and habits, so you know exactly what supports a healthy smile between visits. A gentle polish leaves your teeth feeling smooth and clean, which many patients find motivating at home. Small changes, like the right toothbrush or a simple flosser, can make daily care easier.
We provide everyday care such as small fillings, support for sensitive teeth, and help for early gum concerns. When something is more complex, we explain your options in plain English and agree the right next step together.
If a specialist opinion would serve you better, we will recommend a referral and guide you through what to expect. Our focus is practical care that protects your teeth and fits your life.
Most people are suitable for general dentistry, as it is the starting point for healthy teeth and gums. At your first visit, we assess your mouth and bite and talk through any priorities.
Sometimes extra support helps first, especially if you have any of the following:
● active tooth decay or gum inflammation that needs stabilising
● a bite that causes heavy wear, or grinding at night
● medical factors that affect dental care, such as certain medications or pregnancy
Your clinician will recommend the most appropriate plan for steady, long-term results.
General dentistry works best with consistency and simple daily habits.
● attend regular check-ups and hygiene visits
● maintain twice-daily brushing and cleaning between teeth
● limit habits that strain teeth, like nail biting or chewing hard objects
● wear a protective night guard if you grind
Small refreshes, such as occasional repairs or polishes, may be advised over time. How long things last depends on your bite, habits, and home care, which we will review together.
General dentistry aims to protect and maintain your smile with conservative care. Fillings, sealants, and other materials are durable, yet not permanent, and may need maintenance in future.
Some staining or gentle wear can develop over time, especially with everyday use. Final outcomes always depend on your enamel, bite, and overall oral health, which we assess and discuss with you. Planning images and digital previews are helpful guides rather than guarantees.
Many people feel a little unsure about visiting the dentist. We take time to explain each step, answer your questions, and check you are comfortable. You stay in control, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.
Our aim is a relaxing experience and care that builds confidence in your oral health. If you ever feel nervous, let us know. Simple pauses, gentle numbing gel, and calm breathing can make a big difference. Your comfort and clarity guide every decision we make together.
