Prompt, reassuring care near Buckingham Old Gaol from a private Milton Keynes dentist

A chipped, fractured or even knocked-out tooth can happen in a heartbeat, whether you are visiting Buckingham Old Gaol Museum on Market Hill or heading home after work. When it does, having a trusted team to turn to brings instant reassurance. At Silver Oaks Dental in Milton Keynes, we offer patient-focused emergency dentistry with clear guidance and timely support. Our aim is simple: to ease discomfort, protect your oral health, and help you feel like yourself again.
From your first call, you will be listened to. We will ask about what happened, explain your options in plain English, and guide you on what to do next. If an urgent visit is appropriate, we will arrange a prompt appointment, subject to availability. Every decision is thoughtfully planned around your needs, so you can move forward with confidence.

Emergency dentistry provides urgent care for unexpected problems affecting your teeth, gums, or mouth. The goal is to relieve discomfort, prevent further damage, and protect your smile. Not every situation needs a same-day visit, but a quick conversation with our team can help you decide the best next step.
You may need emergency dentistry if you have:
● A chipped, cracked or knocked-out tooth after an injury
● Severe toothache or sensitivity that does not settle
● A lost or broken filling or crown
● Swelling or a suspected infection
● Bleeding or soft tissue injury to the gums, tongue, lips or cheeks
Your appointment will focus on calming symptoms and stabilising the area, so you can eat, speak and smile more comfortably. Suitability for any specific treatment always depends on a clinical assessment. If further care is needed after your urgent visit, we will create a plan that feels right for you.

This helps with accurate diagnosis and confident treatment planning in complex injuries or suspected infections. Our intraoral scanner captures fast digital impressions for temporary restorations, improving comfort and saving time during urgent visits.

Everything we do is designed to restore your comfort quickly and protect your long-term oral health.
Immediate Advice
When you contact us, we will ask about your symptoms and offer simple steps to follow before your visit. This may include how to cover sharp edges, how to control minor bleeding, or how to protect a damaged tooth. If a tooth has come out, we may advise how to keep it moist and safe until you arrive. These small actions can make you feel more in control.
Urgent Appointment, Subject to Availability
If an urgent visit is suitable, we will arrange a prompt appointment. When you arrive, our first priority is your comfort. We will check the area, listen to your concerns, and explain what will happen next in clear, friendly language.
Assessment and First Treatment
After a clinical check and any necessary imaging, we will provide the first stage of care. This could include:
● Smoothing a sharp edge or placing a temporary filling or dressing
● Protecting exposed dentine to reduce sensitivity
● Adjusting your bite if a tooth feels high after a breakage
● Recementing or providing a temporary solution for a dislodged crown where appropriate
If a tooth has been knocked out, timely assessment helps us determine the safest next step.
Our imaging may include small X-rays or, when helpful, our CBCT scanner for precise 3D views. If a digital impression is needed for a temporary restoration, our intraoral scanner keeps the process quick and comfortable. At every point, we explain your options and check that you feel at ease.
Follow-Up Plan
Before you leave, you will receive a bespoke plan for any further care. This may include a review appointment, a new bespoke crown or bridge, or other restorative treatment as clinically appropriate. Timings depend on your individual needs and healing. Our aim is to help you return to everyday life with confidence—enjoying your favourite meals, speaking clearly and smiling comfortably.
You may benefit from an urgent appointment if you have:
● A tooth that has chipped, fractured or been knocked out
● Ongoing toothache or sudden sensitivity
● A broken or dislodged filling or crown
● Local swelling, heat or tenderness that suggests infection
● Bleeding or injury to the lips, cheeks, tongue or gums
If you are unsure, please call. Our team will advise whether a same-day or soon appointment is appropriate, or if a routine visit would be more suitable. Either way, you will know your next step.
