From your first call, you will be listened to and guided step by step. We focus on restoring comfort and confidence while planning what comes next with care. Many University of Buckingham students and staff trust us when the unexpected happens because we combine modern technology with friendly, clear communication.

Emergency dentistry focuses on urgent problems that need prompt attention. These can include severe toothache, a chipped or broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth, swelling, or a lost filling or crown that leaves your tooth sensitive or painful. The goal is simple and reassuring: assess quickly, relieve symptoms, protect the tooth where possible, and reduce the risk of further complications.
If you are waiting to be seen, a few simple steps can help:
● Rinse gently with lukewarm water to keep the area clean.
● Use a cold compress on the cheek to help reduce swelling.
● Avoid chewing on the affected side to protect the area.
● If a tooth is knocked out, place it in milk and avoid touching the root.
● If you still have a broken piece of tooth or crown, bring it with you.
Suitability for any specific treatment always depends on a clinical assessment, and your clinician will explain every option in plain, friendly language so you can make decisions with confidence.

You deserve care that is both precise and personal. Here is how we support you when time matters:
● Bespoke, patient-focused care. Your needs guide every decision. We explain each step clearly so you know what is happening and why.
● A relaxing environment. Our team works with care and attention to help you feel at ease during urgent visits.
● Technology that supports precision and comfort. Our CBCT Scanner and Intraoral Scanner provide detailed digital information when needed. CBCT offers highly detailed 3D images to help us diagnose fractures or infection more accurately and plan treatment with greater confidence. Our intraoral scanner captures precise digital impressions in minutes, improving comfort and saving time if a temporary or replacement restoration is required.
● Thoughtful aftercare. You will leave with practical guidance tailored to your situation. This supports healing and helps reduce the chance of repeat problems.
We combine modern techniques with genuine kindness, so you feel supported from the first call to your final follow-up.
First Contact
Call us and describe your symptoms. We will prioritise an emergency appointment wherever possible and offer immediate guidance to help you feel more comfortable before you arrive.
Assessment And Diagnosis
Your clinician will examine the area and listen to your concerns. Digital X-rays or CBCT imaging may be used where indicated. These tools improve diagnostic accuracy, help us spot hidden issues, and guide the most effective next steps for you.
Immediate Care
Our first priority is to stabilise the situation and ease your discomfort. We may smooth sharp edges, place a temporary repair, drain an area if appropriate, or provide medication when clinically indicated. If you have a knocked-out or displaced tooth, we will assess its condition and act to protect it where possible. We will always explain what we are doing in simple terms before we begin.
Follow-Up Planning
Once the immediate concern is addressed, we will outline a clear plan for any further care you may need. This could include a definitive filling, a bespoke crown, root canal treatment, or other restorative options tailored to your situation. Timings and suitability depend on your assessment.
You will know what to expect, how to look after the area at home, and when to return. Your comfort and long-term oral health guide every recommendation.
Throughout your visit, we keep you informed, involved, and comfortable. Our aim is to help you feel calm and cared for while we protect your smile.
● Students or staff with a chipped, fractured or knocked-out tooth after sport or an accident.
● Anyone with severe or persistent toothache that affects daily activities or sleep.
● Patients with swelling, a suspected infection or an abscess.
● People who have lost a filling or crown and are experiencing pain or sensitivity.
● Soft tissue injuries to the lips, cheeks or gums that need attention.
